Do you take care of your health concerns right away or put it off?

I know that when it comes to my kids or husband I will right away make a Dr. appointment or get information about a problem or health concern. For myself though, I tend to put off getting something checked out, or taking steps to make sure any concern is nothing to worry about. I think I tend to worry, but try to forget about the need to have regular check-ups. Do you fear finding out medical information and so put off getting check-ups? If you felt there was something wrong medically with yourself how long would it take you to go get checked out?

Depends on what it is. If I'm pregnant.. that's an immediate thing, since I've had my miscarriage. If it's something I can fix with over the counter.. and doesn't last longer than 2 months, I don't bother with it. If it's something like an open wound, bleeding, horrible pains that don't vanish with Tylenol.. then I'll be in the ER. Now with my daughter.. I'm right there. Anything. A cold, I can handle.. but a fever, or vomiting.. we're in the ER. With my boyfriend.. I tend to be a little on the meaner side, just because I believe a man can handle it. He actually turns into a huge BABY! But if it doesn't go away with home cures, or over the counters, then to the ER we shall go!

I put off going to the doctor as long as I can. Every time I go I get bad news. More surgeries, another infection, or something. I dread going, so I have to be feeling pretty crappy for me to go. :( My husband is the same way I am, but we both jump up and drag the boys out if they sniffle. lol
