for living arrangements he can look in the paper for shared accommadation, there are some nice people with nice places out there wanting to split costs and the house will already be furnished so he dosn't have to worry about that, the only thing he may need is his own bed and you can cheap ones in the paper second hand if need be. Financially first if he has know income he needs to go to centrelink and get an income while he soughts out money for college. Ring up the place were he needs to fill in the Fasfa forms to get financial aid explain the situation and see what they say, they may be able to help and if not ask them if there is another organisation that can help. Is this financial aid something that has to be paid off on a fortnightly basis like normal loans and if so contact the college and ask them who you contact to get financial aid that dosn't start getting paid back until you start working. I worked in payroll and this debt is called a HECS debt which when working a small percentaqe comes off of your earnings until it is payed back.

He can fill out the FASFA forms himself. He can claim he is emancipated from his parents. He could probably get a great deal of financial aid and dorm at the school. He should go to admissions and see an advisor. I am sure they have seen this situation before and can help him. Did he do well on SAT's? Good luck to you...

Is there anyone who can take him in until he finds a job? You, his relatives, his friends, a church member, a temporary shelter? He should secure a job, preferrably one on-campus, then apply for admission. Maybe he can work out an arrangement that he can get a tution credit for the amount of hours he works or something. He'll be 21 in less than a year, and can find his own place then. He's not out of options yet.
