life on mars

Scientists have concluded that there is no life on mars because the conditions there are not compatible with life. HOW do they know that the conditions are not EXTREMELY compatible with any life form which has evolved on Mars? Why do we always adopt the very narrow spectrum which is conducive to life forms we know about, and not entertain the idea that just maybe there are organisms and species more than capable of living outside the spectrum?

good question. i guess we all presume that you need oxygen to live because all animals on this planet need oxygen. But why can an animal not evolve to deal without it? I don't have an answer! I don't like it when i don't have an answer. However i did read something, must have been at least 6 months ago which said that scientists believed that there could be small microbial life forms on mars, so now i don't know what to believe. I guess we'll just have to send some people there to find out

Actually, a lot of bacteria on earth are anaerobic and thrive in places where there is not any oxygen.

Exactly! I am pleased I have got you thinking, smuggeridge, as it is something that vexes me greatly. The experts keep saying life on Mars is not possible because . . . yet scientists are there in part to push back the barriers, aren't they? The comment by the lady (sorry can not see your name whilst I am replying) about the oganisms that do not require oxygen goes further to my belief that actually Mars is teeming with life but not as we know it!

We are just not advanced enough to see it. Of course the is some form of life , do they not talk of great storms on mars, what is the wind if not an elemental life form. It amazes mehow we can be so sure - didn't the earth use to be flat so we didn't fall off?

No, rainbow, I think the earth is BECOMING flat to try to make sure some of us DO fall off, to make more room for everyone else lol. So far everyone seems to concur that there is life there, let's hope the powers that be never find it, they will only try to exploit it.

Exactly so! I reckon there is life there, but I also think it is too clever to let anyone else know it is there, which has to be an aid to survival!
