Have you ever built your own computer?

I have put together a lot of computers over the years and taught many students how to do it correctly. But even after building hundreds of computers I still find that I run into problems with new ones. What was the first computer you put together? How old were you? Did you have to call anyone for assistance?

It's a lot of fun and I enjoyed it while I was doing. The thing I think I liked the most was the fact that there is a never ending supply of new technology to play with.

well yes...built in the sense...assembled all the parts...if that is what you mean by building a computer..i was 15 years old when i built my computer..its really cheap in india building you own pc...a pentium 4 machine with 512 ram and 80gb hard-disk would cost 22K indian money...roughly 400$...and i dont know if thats cheap for others...

I think it's about the same price here for a configuration like you have built. What is 22K. I realize it's currency but what is K thanks for your response.

I think it's pretty cool to take a bunch of parts and in just a few minutes you can be communicating with the world and kickin' someone's butt half way around the globe.
