Pathan has shown some sign of being a good all- rounder but i think the best all-rounder after kapil is Shastri

It is him without any doubt, the forgotten man. Who can forget his deadly inswingers in the WC final match against the windies though? It's time he's given his due.

Was it Mohinder Amarnath...the come back man of Indian cricket who played such a pivotal role in India winning the world cup..

No there is no allrounder in India as good as Kapil, Shastri comes the closest to Kapil, but still Kapil is the best allrounder not only in India but among all the allrounders world have ever produced.

Pathan is already failing in his bowling. Manoj prabhakar was an accident in Indian cricket. Shastri was never a formidable allrounder, batting in odi like in tests and earning stonethrows. Kapil was the only genuine allrounder india has produced so far with his impeccable behaviour on and off the field. Above everything, he shouldered the captaincy burden and won the only world cup for india. I think in future also nobody is going to come to stand on his shoes. It's been years since he retired and no one to this date even remotely promised to fulfil the vacuum created by him.
