How would you feel if you found out a long time relationship was a fraud?

How would you feel if you just found out a long time relationship which maybe you married or were living with turned out to be a phony. Like you didn't know who they really were, or found out they were merely using you for some advantage they could get by being with you?

It was awful. I felt so betrayed and it's difficult to trust again though I am trying.

it would crush ur heart to the core....tears would be the answer to ur own questions n nothing else....but even later u cant stop thinking about that person it juz stays may be she is dishonest but ur love for her is true....and love is not a give n take policy if u love someone be happy for it even if she doesn't love u...

I think I would be very angry then feel betrayed and very hurt , I would probably wonder at first if I had done something wrong , Then I would sit and disect everything in my head ( as I do ) and realise I had done nothing wrong and start to fight back xx good luck

That's a really good way of thinking. I actually did that without the fighting back.

At first I felt resentful and believe me that crossed my mind but then I thought that maybe the best way was to completely just shut him out of my life and pretend he never existed.

I would go through a range on emotions, i would be hurt that someone would stoop so low to do that to me, i would be embarrassed to all my friends and family to find out. I would be ashamed that i didnt figure it out, i would be angry and want revenge, i would go through every emotion there is.

Believe me, I certainly did. And the emotions would switch every two seconds as well.

I would be totally and completely upset. I don't think that I could forgive a person like that although I know I would have to, but that would be hard. It would make it hard to trust the next person because you have been so deceived and betrayed.

Believe me, it is hard and then think about the idea that they still want to be your friend, lol.

It's good that you did find someone great after something horrible like your earlier experience.
