Scammers Using Mylot

February 4, 2007 7:04pm CST
Reading between the lines of some Mylot users questions,i wont name any of them incase i start world war 3 lol,i have noticed that a few people here are trying to get money not just from mylot but from us the users, they try to get you to read their profile so that they can sell you something .from their own personal websites, some charge a fortune for their services and some people charge very little, most of them are trying to sell get rich quick secrets, telling little white lies about how much they are earning, and promising the world with their literature.send me your money and i will email you this or that, and you will soon be making alot of money like me and so on and so on. i personaly would like people to look at my wesite, not to sell you anything, not even to make you rich but for the simple fact that the more people that look at my site the higher my site will grow on the search engine rankings, the higher i get in the rankings the more visitors i will get outwith mylot users and the more visitors i get the more clicks on my google ads. Watch out for the mylot scammers thats my advice they may seem friendly to everyone but all they really want is your money. surf safely.....jimmy

I'm a horribly bitter person, and I have no pity for the people who fall prey to scammers. They're easy enough to spot in this day an age, especially on a site like this. I've had so many friends requests from people who's posts are all about making money elsewhere, and they all get automatically denied. The scammers on here aren't all that bright. But they do tend to target other people who aren't that bright, I've noticed. Ah well, live and learn.

sometimes you have to be bitter and hard to get people to understand that they are being cheated out of money they cant afford even if it is only a few dollars, the only ones makeing any money are telling you that you will make money if you buy their product yeah right lol if everyone sends me a dollar i will get rich too but and i will tell everyone my secret. my secret is that i asked everyone to send me a dollar i got richer by several hundred dollars whilst several hundred people got 1 dollar poorer. if i did know the secret of how to get rich on the internet i would gladly share it with everyone for free ,because by then i would be rich and i wouldnt care who knew ho i did it.

Reminds me of the "Rich Jerk" ebook. This is one of the places where all this "get rich" stuff is coming from. One of the techniques he teaches is basically to scare everyone by screaming YOU WILL GET SCAMMED and then turn around and recommend the only two "legitimate" products that really work (any old two you want to pick from thousands). He's got everyone's dollar too. Or more like 50. He's only different from the rest because he's better at it. Anyway I agree with this poster. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice... you know the rest. Take care all.

Good advice, Yeah I too have seen those and been leery of many especially the ones that you have front money in the beginning. Everyone needs to thoroughly check each opputunity and make sure its on the up and up. Not saying every service is a scam but to use caution!

if people offer to tell you a secret of how to get rich on the internet, then ask you for money for the secret you know how they got rich in the first palce by scamming innocent people like you and me out of our hard earned cash.

Hey Jimmy - check this user out. wcq2008. He may have perfected the technique of making more than 500 posts in 22 hours. Dont look at the post counter, he has baffled the counter. Look at the last page number at the bottom of the Discussions I've started page, and keep going till you get to the absolute last page.

Everything has a good side and a bad side. Same is applicable for Mylot also. You will find some geniune friends here and some who are cheaters. It depends on us now as to whom we will beleive and whom we will not. I feel we should report against these scammers ans try to reduce their number on Mylot

Scammers are everywhere and here at mylot is not the exception. I participate in this site and don't care about scammers, cheaters, or what ever, just being careful of what you share here and post in you profile. Not all people are what you think they are so make friends and make sure you are not giving personal information to spammers, scammers or cheaters.

i guess people should be more aware then. no one is forcing anyone to get service for them or pay them, so buyer beware is the only way out.

hmmm...of course I use my website to sell stuff.. i'm trying to start doing telecommutting work and my site is my office. And I'm doing a bunch of little things to bring in some extra money using my site. But that's not the only reason that I direct people to my site. Like you said.... it affects the rankings in search engines. And it's also umm.. me... I mean it's a personal site.. it's mine and of course it's got my work on it but it's also got me and my kids and stuff.. I don't think I necessarily lead people to it to scam them.. but if what I'm responding to and posting about can be explained on my site.. I will tell them to check it out.. and it's not always about what I can gain from it but I've told people to about the little mall that I have set up at Silver Sity and how if they have a craft or hobby that they want to sell online I'd be willing to sell it through the mall (and this is something that I offer to do without a fee) But I do see what you mean about some of the other posts. I've seen more and more that are nothing more than a referal link. I just rate those negatively and don't bother even replying to them. And I've noticed a couple that seem to add their referral link to the bottom of every post even when it has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion.

i wish you lots of luck with your site, you may sell on it but that doesn't make you a scammer, shops sell things but they are not scamming you, unlike a scammer you are selling something that people can actualy use and get some satisfaction from, the scammers are selling you an email containing alot of useless information that if you do a websearch you can find for free i have seen some asking for as much as $500 for their "secrets" of course there are some poor gullible people out there who fall for it every time.

Not only in myLot, scammers are everywhere, and it is easy for the young starter to become their soft target. I used to be cheated so much when I first started to earn money online. But now I'm more aware. Thanks for this informative posts.

I have asked people to look at my profile but not to sell them anything or scam them. I have links on there that I'd like to share. Such as my social networking site for Troop Supporters and families. I don't think that would be considered scamming people. :) I like to refer people to my profile for different links. :) Not to scam or sell them anything. But yes, I love visitors to my sites as well.

I totaly agree that you should give the scammers a negative rating to all of their questions and their answer,it may not stop them but if they have a low score it may stop people from taking them so seriously
