Looking for information from those who have moved to Hawaii or are thinking about it. What do you consider to be the pros/cons? What area would you want to live in? Are you moving there to work or retire?

well, if you're moving to hawaii probably the best place would be Oahu since there are more people there and a larger city living life. if you're retiring then maybe the outer island, Kaui, Maui or the Big Island would be good for rest and relaxation. I like Maui, but its a little too quiet for me to live there. everyone goes to sleep at 8. i remember that much.

We're trying to get away from crowds and city really, so I think Oahu is out for us. We loved Kauai when we were there, and the pace/setting was just perfect. We'd probably try spending a few months there before we decided to move for real, we're trying to come up with a cons list right now. :) Amma

yeah kaui is good. but you have to make sure you have a lot, living there is a lot more expensive then oahu because there is less there. so just make sure you're prepared.

Hey =) I haven't been there so i can't really add to this. Although i did want to join in on your discussion =) I'm not sure what the places was called but some friends of my parents moved there. The photos they sent when i was a kid was breath taking, they did have bad weather at times but what do you except when living in a paradise. Anyways.. i'll keep quiet now. Goodluck with the move =) ~Joey P.s if i had enough to buy a holiday home there i would. kudos!
