What are Turkish Vans like?

I met a Turkish Van at a show recently and am rather intrigued by them. They seem very quirky and are gorgeous. I've been reading about them online and it seems that the general consensus is that they are pretty wary and not a breed suited for everyone. So I'm wondering if they are suited for me. I'd love to hear stories about your Turkish Vans! Photos would be awesome :)

Hi there. I have turkish van and she is loveable. THough their character is very different from other cats. JUst to emphasize you, I have 2 cats right now, one is my turkish and other one is an egyptian mau. THe egyptian mau is very showy of her love to us but my tirkish van is a quiet one, she usually doesnt show her feelings, but if the egyptian mau is not around she is very loving and wants to be cuddled. She is gorgeous you are right, the way she acts like jump and walk like a real woman, you know what I mean? But with the other animals and other people they are very shy. So she is ok with us because she is living only with me and my husband but if my relatives comes for a visit she usually hides. Sorry but I can't post any pics for now...but you can try to check on my profile as i put pictures of her there.

At first no, because turkish are so reserved cats. They are very mysterious aside from the fact that cats are territorial animals. First day of my new cat, my turkish started to get moody. She even scracthed me one time. But after a month, they got to know each other. She's acting like the mommy for the egyptian mau since she is like 8 months older than her. She's so cute!

Aw she sounds lovely. Hopefully if I get a Turk, he'd get along with my cats too!
