How Would You Break Up?

Just imagine that you have been going out with someone for a couple of years. You've gotten tired of the relationship or have found someone new. How would you break up. 1) You would do it face to face. 2) Send them a text message. 3) Write them a note. 4) Tell them on the phone. I would hope i would have the decency to tell the person face to face, but I've heard of people using some of the above options. What would you do?

I would totally do it face to face. If you've been with someone for that long, they deserve a face to face break up. Leaving a note is more for that person you woke up next to wondering what the h*ll you did the night before, and the phone/text message is more a thing for high school kids. If you've been with someone for a couple of years, you owe it to them to be up front and honest. Have a happy day my friend!!!!!

I would choose to do it face to face at least I would know his reaction.. and to apologize personally for the hurt I have caused the person.

That would seem the best way to go about it. Thanks for commenting.

Telling them face to face would be the hardest thing for me to do. I would go with sending them a note, that way I won't feel bad about doing it and I would feel like I have done the right thing for me. I know it isn't fair to them but I guess it is ok to be selfish sometimes.

The only time I think it would be appropriate to break off a long term relationship any way other than face to face is if their is danger of violence. Then a note or phone call is appropriate, otherwise, if a person has invested that much time on you, you owe them the decency of a respectful, face to face discussion.

I would tell them face to face, you have been with this person a very long time. You it to them to at least face them when you do it. Not to mention, that it makes you look like a better person. In my opinion I have always felt that people who run, just cant be trusted.
