dreamgirls the film

I've just gone to the cinema and seen Dreamgirls...I liked the film very much because of the wonderful soundtrack and I simply fell in love with the actress performing as Effie...does she sing on her own in the film? If she sings and acts, well she is simply supreme!!!!

Effe is played by Jennifer Hudson from Chicago, Illinois. She was a contestant on American Idol..season 3. She does sing on her own in Dream Girls. Last week on show in honor of Aretha Franklin, Jennifer performed two of Aretha's songs. When she sand the song Respect, I got chills. She has a very powerful six range voice. In fact she has a record deal and her album should be out any day now.

thanks for the explanation...well, here in Italy Jennifer Hudson is rather unknown...but I think she is great...I'm aware she's got a nomination and hope she'll win the oscar...as soon as I left the cinema, I went and got the original sound track, so to listen to those beautiful songs...and you'll be sure I'll buy her album as soon as it is available in Italy
