Jesus Christ or the Prophet Muhammed?

Jesus Christ by still waters - Well they say still waters run deep. But how deep?

I have no doubt in my mind that this is going to get a few posts and replies. I am not asking which religion you are, or even which is better looking... But what I am asking, is which you believe to have the greater and clearer morals, and therefore the better teacher to the human race and mankind as a whole. My answer is pretty clear because I am a Christian, and a great believer in the word of Christ. He preached peace and love to all of any religion or status. This is not always reflected in his followers (ie. the catholics and the crusades). But his word was whole and holy and honest, and his actions confirmed this. On the other hand, Muhammed preached a faith of peace and laws and one where you could all live in the cradle of Allah as good and wholesome disciples. He didn't recognize other religions however, and he fought 78 battles (77 were offensive and only 1 defensive) in the name of Islam and Allah. He killed or converted infidels (not hard to see why the followers are a little confused is it?). But I do believe that the Islamic faith can be a peaceful one, and I also believe that the Christian faith can be also, but both have their imperfections. So which is it?? Man who moves mountains or Son of God?

What did the prophet Mohammed do for you? Did he know you before you were ever born? No. Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God and He came to earth to teach us to love and to forgive one another. Also, He came to die in our place for our sins and no one else ever did that. He promises those who love Him Eternal Life and that is the most awesome promise we have! No one else even comes close! Jesus Christ is the Lord of all!

Of course this is my opinion too, and I cannot help but agree with you Springlady. But let us not forget that we live in a diverse world with many different beliefs and cultures, and all are welcome to their opinions. Thanks so much for your response. Love and light.

I too am Christian, although fairly new, I wasn't raised with any religion. As I'm still learning Christianity I haven't learned much if anything about other religions. This however is my thinking. God knows our hearts and whether we call Him by one name or another I believe there is only one God any religion who believes this will find salvation. That said I will not say another's beliefs are "wrong" and you will find good and bad in any religion, race, or group. I don't like to judge people but when I do it will be on the individual not because they belong to a particular church or live in a certain neighborhood. I think God is the same way - He will look at the person's heart.

Well lets look at the legacy of each. Jesus: teacher and leader Muhammad: leader and warlord. Muhammad killed people, warred with people, and took things over for economic gain. He was also far less tolerant than Jesus and did not practice as much compassion. So I think I'm gonna go with Jesus if I have to pick on of the two.

according to you which one is more realistic in this world at present. R U ALL FOLLOWING WHAT JESUS SAID??? IF MOHAMMAD(SAW) TOOK THINGS OVER FOR ECONOMIC GAIN, THEN LETS PONDER ABOUT THIS LIFE IN THIS WORLD. EVERYTHING IS MATERIALISTIC IN THIS WORLD AT PRESENT. EVERYONE FIGHTS FOR ECONOMIC GAIN. WHO DOES NOT ???!!!!??!!!! THE WHOLE WORLD DOES IT ! WHO PRACTICE COMPASSION NOWADAYS?? WHO IS TOLERANT NOWADAYS???? NO ONE IS !!!! IN CASE JESUS IS THE BEST , THEN WE ARE ALL WRONG IN THSI WORLD. WE ARE NOT PRACTICING WHATEVER JESUS SAID.

I didnt mean this. But I maintain that THEY ARE BOTH GOOD. No one is better than the other. THEY WERE BOTH THE MESSENGER OF GOD FOR THEIR PEOPLE. MUHAMMAD(SAW-PBUH) IS THE LAST PROPHET! YOU ARE MISLEADED REGARDING ISLAM. TO HAVE A PROPER KNOWLEDGE ABOUT ISLAM, ASK A QUALIFIED IMAM/MAULANA/MUFTI IN YOUR LOCALITY TO EXPLAIN TO YOU WHAT DOES THE QURAN SAY. A RELIABLE SOURCE OF INFORMATION, WHERE YOU CAN ASK ANY QUESTIONS OR MISUNDERSTANDINGS TOWARDS ISLAM IS www.jummahmasjid.org ! THE IMAMS MAULANAS AND MUFTI ARE VERY QUALIFIED AND WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH QUALITY ANSWERS AND ARGUMENTS.

For all intents and purposes, the two shouldn't be compared and there is no comparisson. I have lots of friends in the Islamic faith and they are good people, they do what they believe is right for them. Jesus Christ is different, He is the incarnate Son of God and came with a sole purpose of bringing as back to God through faith in Him and what He has done for us on the cross. He has made provisions for sins of men and offer God's forgiveness to those who are willing to repent and put their trust in Him. He is the way, the truth and the life. Really, there is no comparisson. Islam is a religion of peace. Following Christ is a way of life.

I am interested in the way you say that Christ is a way of life? That's very similar to Buddhism (a code for life). And interestingly enough many believe that Christ was a dalai lama and currently his energy lives on in another body. And to be honest, Christ did preach many buddhist beliefs and seemed to be "enlightened" in the way a Buddha would be... Great answer anyways, got me really thinking. :) Love and light.

Dear Rittings, I am a Moslem, and I vote for Both since in the Koran Allah dignify and grace jesus (and other prophet) and Mohammed. None of the Koran had blasphemeth or abase any prophets and/or apostles and we are forbids of doing such thing. Our Faith foundations are: 1. Believe in Allah as God 2. Believe To Prophets and apostles of Allah (Including Jesus) 3. Believe to Holly books of Allah 4. Believe to Angels of Allah 5. Believe to fate and destiny 6. Believe that there is Judgement Day

There really is no contest, Muhammed may have been a great leader but Jesus is the only perfect human and the only person to speak with the full authority of God. Followers of both have committed atrocities but people will always find an excuse to fight. Jesus lived a perfect life, faultless. Muhammad married a 7 year old girl and consummated the marriage when she was 9. Jesus taught love, Muhammad slaughtered his enemies. all the best urban

Its historical fact that he married Aisha when she was a child. I think that, among Muhammads other transgressions are ironed over in the Islamic media and dogma, which make it heard to seperate Muhammad's actions from Islam itself, since Muhammad himself is a source for Sharia and jihad.

ismael, it is written in the most accepted Hadith's have you not read? Indeed Aisha narrates the same, stating that she was playing on a swing just before Muhammad consummated the marriage. Sahil-al-Bukhari vol 5 book 58. Hisham's father states that he consumated the marriage when she was 9 Sahil-al-Bukhari vol 5 book 58 There are plenty of others which I would cite here were I able to cut and paste all the best urban

"you are completely wrong my friend !!!! muhammad married a 7year old girl and consummated the marriage when she was 9" this is completely wrong and baseless !!! no one can prove what you just said." muhhammad(pbuh) told : if your enemies come in front of your door, you should welcome him with due respect" n we cannont say jesus was better or vice versa. they were both right.they were both prophets accroding to islam. they were both sent by god. they were both pious.

i am an hindu and we follow the Vedic religion. we have a history of more than 5000 years. and Vedas are the oldest written litterature. there are four Vedas. and what they teach is nothing but LOVE, Social welfare, Honesty, Non Violence, and Harmony among all the humans. now i would like to tell you that the Word 'Religion' is in sanskrit language called 'Dharma'. and according to Vedas Dharma means all what is fair, all that is moral, all that is good for the humanity as well as for the entire living and non living things. Dharma does not mean any community. some great teachings are (may be you too are knowing these bcz these are so famous)-- "Vasudhav Kutumbakam" that means- entire earth is a family (we all belong to a single family then why to fight each other), "Ahinsa Parmo Dharmah" -Non violence is the greatest religion (here religion means 'the duty'). and many like the same. my religion never stops me to go to church or mosques. being a hindu i am free to have belief in Christ and Mohhammed. thats why being a hindu I am also A christ . vedic dharma says me to believe in all the good things and to respect all the good people. no matter to which community they belong to. according to my holy books, religion is to unite the people, not to devide them . and you will be amazed to know this that even the word GOD has its emergence somewhere from indian mithology. IN vedas (which are proven oldest litteratures and are about two to three thousand years older than the christ)we find a Trinity of three Devas (gods), Brimha -who made the world( Generator), Vishnu- who is responsible to take care of what goes on in the world and who operates the world (Operator) and Shiva- who destroyes the world when there are only evil and no good people (the Destroyer) and you must know that the word GOD is made by G (generator)O (operator) D(destroyer). i think my religion is totally scientific bcz all we do is allways for good reasons. for example we are taught to worship rivers, trees, sea and i think today it is very relavent when trees and forests are being cut and rivers are being poluted. also the spirit of " Vasudhav Kutumbakam " is very relavent today when all the world is fighting for land and water and other things. the best religion is which teaches that all the religions are one. and we are all friends and the members of the same family. the greatest gifts of Vedas to the Mankind are - Yoga, The teaching of Non Violence, The Principle of Karma (action) and the Vegitarianism.

Jesus Christ as the son of God has the greatest influence on mankind, because He is the son of God. Muhammed was a man and do you know that the religion of Mohammed was spread by conquest? It is a religion of fear and the non Christian of Moslem countries has to pay higher taxes than a Moslem. Christianity, on the other hand, is spread by God working on man's heart and since Christianity came in the world, many evils were eradicated or lessened, such as slavery, excessive money to the upper classes, no middle class, excessive poverty in the lower classes, etc.

That is interesting, you are are a relativist.... God has a lot to say in the scriptures on how we are to believe on Him... I wonder that the two of you disagree on that point, how it will pan out in the end.

I say son of god. I like that jesus taught acceptance, love and helping others, many traits that over looked in christian churches today. I am christian but I dont like the way some of the flocks in churches judge someone by what they wear, where they work, what they look like, and how much money they have, or their past- as no one is perfect and we are to embrace and help each other. I try to not judge as I know I am not perfect just forgven for my short comings. I try to put God first in my life and pray and believe. I just dont feel I have to do so around people who might not try to befriend me or judge me if I dont drive a car such as theirs, or have expensive clothes as theirs. People need to ask if their behavior would please god,and what really would jesus do? Good topic,my friend!

your points are good. I too believe that i should not judge, that is for God to do... Yet the word of God does call us to be fruit inspectors, so that we may encourage one another in love and good works, growing in the grace and likeness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And rather than ask what would Jesus do, should we not rather ask "what did Jesus do?" We need to know Gods word, and not be afraid to speak love and truth into one anothers lives. be blessed

first of all, i rspect you so much since u r trying to search for the truth ......i want to dicuss this matter with you according to human mind and good nature ,prophet mohammaed (peace on him )had a message from god to spread islam on earth .....islam which is calling people to worship god and only god which created them and gave them the graces .....so prohet mohammed (peace on him ) was delivering this message to people by persuasion and clear proofs, but he had to fight those people who tried to prevent him from spreading god's message ,they wanted to kill him and all muslim people to remove islam from earth since it is contrary to their self_interest ,while they were stealing people and torturing poor ones ,and irrespect women ,and not giving people's rights .... and talk about this will not finish ...... i just want to ask u a question and please try to anwer it by ur mind and logically ,....do u think that god who created this world and taking care of it all time and who is alive for ever and who knows everything ...can have a son ???????????? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it might be in the stories but in the real fact no body knows which is true and which is false Cause we have not seen we have just heard that it is like this and like that so As far as i have concerned i think all the god are great and they love everybody and he doesn't hate anybody and those who creates offense they ll be checked and he gives tough tasks to perform in life so he is great i don't say Islamic is peaceful or christian is peaceful cause man are the one who creates this kind of situation of quarrel or bad impression on their religion.

WE NEED TO RESPECT BOTH RELIGION AS IT IS ! BEFORE MAKING ANY COMMENTS WHETHER GOOD OR BAD, WE SHOULD KNOW BOTH RELIGION DEEPLY.MUSLIM COMMUNITIES DONT HAVE ANY PREFERENCE BUT INSTEAD INSTEAD RECOGNISE BOTH OF THEM AS PROPHETS AMONG WHICH PROPHET MUHAMMAD(PEACE BE UPON HIM) TO BE THE LAST PROPHET. THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY RECOGNISE WHATEVER PROPHET ISA(JESUS)(PEACE BE UPON HIM) AND PROPHET MUHAMMAD(S.A.W-PEACE BE UPON HIM)

Yes, but Islam also makes up this tale of a fake Jesus being substituted for the crucifixion, which renders Jesus a deceiver. The Muslim version of Jesus is unbelievable and incoherent. What you must consider is did Jesus who lived a perfect life or perfect authenticity turn deceiver at the end? If you really can believe that then perhaps Islam makes sense. But if you can't accept that Jesus would betray all that he preached then Islam makes no sense. all the best urban

We worship God. Jesus and God are the Same. I know it is impossible for us to comprehend, but God became a man, Jesus Christ, to suffer and die for our sins. We have the Trinity..God the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. All are God Himself.
