Do you give into the hype of limited edition products?

I have to admit, I often buy things just because they are "limited edition". Mac cosmetics seems to have this type of sales scheme down. If something is listed as limited edition I am more likely to want to make a purchase.

I wouldn't say I give in to the hype around limited edition products. I only buy that sort of thing if it's something I really like and know I will not be able to get again. For example, if Lush comes out with a one-time or seasonal product that I love, I will stock up because I know I won't be able to buy a bit more here and there when I want it... I don't care so much about packaging or making the same product look different, it's just a matter of whether it works for me and I like it.

I must admit that I do give into the hype of limited edition items but not many. I do have a limited edition of adidas sneakers that I absolutely adore and wear all the time. I like the idea of limited edition clothes as well but I'm also a bargain shopper so the two don't mix well. As for MAC, I love the limited edition collections, but I usually buy what I think I'll use and enjoy. My favorite is when they release limited edition packaging. For example, I loved the blue packaging from the Lure collection and the packaging from the Diana Ross collection as well.

I'm a sucker for packaging as well. I can't wait to see the new Mac for Barbie packaging. I actually didn't buy any of the products from Lure, surprisingly.

I do give in if I think the product sounds good. I buy a lot of Lush products that are limited edition. Sometimes I buy them even if I'm not sure that I will like them. I can't always get to a store, so I order online. The upside of that is that if I don't like the smell when it arrives I can always sell it to another Lush junkie on the forums :)

Nah, I don't usually buy into that stuff. Usually if it's limited, I know if I really like it, I won't be able to buy it again later. Plus those items seem to be a lot more expensive.
