Can I just wait out my bad credit?

Can I just wait out my bad credit? I have really bad credit, from a divorce three years ago. I aquired all the bad debt, and non of the stuff! I have a repo, and a ton of old dilinquent accounts. Can I just wait them out, or should I start the ten year process of making them right? What will happen if i just keep refusing to pay?
