I think I'd still keep my name...Catherine but if I had a chance to ammend it, I would add another name to it...like for example - Catherine Louise, Catherine Joyce, Anne Catherine, etc. My sister and brother both have 3 names apiece and I really feel left out having just 1 name.

Thats too a different opinion. Adding another name to the existing seems great... So you will not loose your own name and at the same time can get a new one

My name was suggested by my mother's brother (maternal uncle) and it is simply fatastic and very appropriate too. I do not wish to change my name, whatsoever.

Oh that's good. Most of the people who joined this discussion had the same opinion. Only one person said that he would like to change his name. Then our name is something that we own but used by others...

If i had a chance to change my name i do not think that i would change it. My name is Ronita and i am very fond of my name and i would never change it. To be honest i don't know if i could even change my last name when if i get married ... LOL!

If i was given a chance to keep the name for my self then i will give the chance to my parents to select a good name.I hope they had only the right to keep the certain name to me.

When I was younger i didn't like my name at all. I couldn't understand why my parents gave it to me. I even tried at one point to go by my middle name. But that never stuck because I never got used to answering to it. But now, as an adult, I have no problems with it. I'll keep it.

that was one different opinion, i saw here in this discussion. yes dude, even though you didnt like ur name in the early years, now it has become a part of ur identity.. isnt it?

Yes ... changing name won't change you. But it was one of the first thing used to identify you so if it is changed it may affect sometimes.

Yes, it's true it is now a part of your identity. But i think as you get older you start to realize what is in a name? A person by any other name is still the same person. Changing my name won't change who i am.
