They say that absence makes the heart go fonder but I really don't believe that long distance relationship work. How can two people remain in love if they cannot be there for each other all the time?

I believe that they can work so long as there is an end in sight, that they know that from such and such a date they will be together.

love can only be long-distance. We love potentiality, not actuality. You know that every idol is a disappointment when taken down from pedestal, don't you ? I mean, if I love my co-worker, but don't live with her, that's still a long distance love.

No, i don't. But i hear about some like this, i know a couple who marry after 4 years of long distance relationship, and now they stay together, and in future they wait for a child. After this experience of my friend i can believe in this, but maybe only a short time, 1 week, month, but no for a year.

i totally agree with this....!! its only in rare cases...and where the love is REALLY strong that the relationships are able to stay put!! in my case my bf and me are in 2 different continents....we do talk everyday...(more than once) but its not enough...certainly not for me...and i dont think for him too...it feels really lonely...i feel as if im talking to just any other friend!! its also frustrating...because when u want him to be there with you...hez not there!! and i admit ...i also get a bit insecure sometimes thinking 'what if he meets some really cool girl out there..while im still here!!' so it doesnt really work i guess!! Cheerz ^_^
