Can some kind souls out there give me some suggestions or tips as to how to get referrals. I can't use any of my family because I have only a sister and she was the one who referred me to myLot; can't ask my parents cos they don't know anything about computers and won't learn! With regards to friends, I am ashamed to say that I don't have many, and those whom I have are doing so well and so busy with work and home life that they don't think this is worth doing. I have tried posting my url in my emails and also on some free ad websites but to date, the score is still zero. BUT..I will plod on and on and on.....

surfing site's it's not the best alternative, surfing site's always turn into scam after a period of time... when the admin gets rich , he turns off the website and he is excusing himself by saying that his website has been under atack by hackers , and many other excuses like this, never trust a autosurf or manualsurf site. i tell it from my experience , the risk is too big if you invest big money !

sorry, i didn't read carefully , putting your link in autosurf site's is ok, you get enough credits when you sign-up... and maby investing 1$ to get about 500 credits is ok :) ...

I'd definately leave it as a footer on your emails. Sometimes if you forward on jokes or something then it'll be picked up by someone you don't even know!! I guess the question more is how to get active referals - i mean you don't want 100 referrals next to your name and none of them are active!

i need to have referrals too. i am a working housewife so i don't have much time to be here and having referral could help my points to keep going even at the times i'm not here. by the way, Sasselle avatar looks unique than the rest of the default avatar. its cute and cool!

I am already doing that but so far no responses yet. You are right though about passive referrals, I don't want that either. I need someone like me who is so hooked on this that it's become a sideline. I won't mind if I can generate enough money from here to do it full time and at the same time having a community of friends to share issues, woes, joys etc...

I've asked you to be a friend. When I can communicate with you I will get you some referrals. Whether they will become good active members I don't know - there is about a 1 in 10 chance they will. At least you can email them and encourage them.

Oh what the heck - I've done it anyway. You should have some referrals in a few hours. Good luck!

Well I hope they will get you started. As I say, there is no promise that they will be really active but at least you can contact them and make them welcome, offer help, etc. I don't know really why I did it. I read your posy and maybe thought you were a kindrid spirit or something. If you check the top referer list you will see why a few referrers plus or minus is not the end of the world for me. LOL I'll change the code on my website so I get the referrals again - I hope you don't mind. Good luck and thanks for allowing me to be your friend.

Hey smacks, I just approved your request since I just came on and saw your message. And yes, I see that I have 5 referrals - thank you so much. How did you get them and why didn't you keep them for yourself? But thanks anyway, I really appreciate your generosity.

If spam all night in any forums you can find referrals but more important is they to be active I have only two referrals which isn't active and have only 2 cents of them.

At least you have 2 referrals, I have none. Even if your referrals aren't earning much but it IS something. But I hope you will continue to work hard. In my case, I know that the person who referred me is not working as hard as me and is earning from me instead.

It is hard to do. Because when you invite your friends, she or he usually doesn't want to spend time doing that. And if a friend do,it is hard for him to become an active referral. So,Good luck for you!

Thank you for your well wishes. I appreciate it and I will continue to work at it but it is very tiring because there seems to be so much to read and digest and so many times it doesn't work for me. But never mind, will move on. All the best to you too.

I have no idea how the referrals work either. I have asked friends of mine to use my referral link, and they say they have, but it doesn't show on my list... it's stil a big fat "0" hehe. Sorry that i can't help you at all!

I guess I will ultimately have to devote some time to creating my own website before things can move faster. Thanks for your opinion.

I perfectly understand your situation cause I'm in it as well. No one seems to respond to the referral and the only friend who just bothered to sign up hasnt got more than 5 posts, what a mess!

Looks like there are many of us in the same plight. Do go through the responses under discussion and check out the links suggested by the responders. We need to be patient though because it will take time to go through it and decide if it is for us.

Although I don't have a referral, but I am sure that if you promote your referral link in some popular forums or your personal website/blog, I am sure that you can get a lot of referrals there! By the way, you can also promote this by the word of mouth, tell your freind, or even family members to join MyLot.

Well, I've given my reasons why I can't do family and friends. However I am looking into the website idea. Thank you for your positive response. :-)

I did an email marketing effort purely to push MyLot to my business network of about 700 people 2 weeks ago. So far I had 6 referrals from there and out of the 6... none of them have more than 3 posts to their name. In my opinion those who started early will reap majority of the benefits as their referrals are still motivated. Sometimes it is hard for new people we refer to see they made 0.01 from 2 post. A friend of mine joined and told me its a waste of his time... LOL! Oh well... I'll try other methods then cause only through referrals can you really make decent money with MyLot. Cheers! Maybe people desperate for money will appreciate that 2 cents or those who enjoy 'socialising' and have a great time discussing, responding and making friends will be long term here. I hope I will be able to find people who fall into this category. Thank you for responding.

I believe you have alot of emails and try using the list inside your address book and start sending personalise mails to them and tell them about the benefits. That may help.

A problem that I have encountered is that many people think that mylot does not pay enough. I've been in other forums where people won't join because they don't like the pay rates on here, so getting referrals is difficult. I myself am a member of 2 better paying forums where you get $10 for 200 posts, on mylot I would be lucky to get $4!

actually because of so many scam sites, it is getting harder to get referrals, honestly i only got 3 and they are not active, i am trying tor each out to them but i have pending friend request so i cannot message them, i only posted a message for them. but you can do it just be patient, you will get referrals, post your referral site on your friendster site,or in any site you have. keep going..

I have no luck here either. I am not sure the anonymous postings really help, people can just bypass the referall and go directly to mylot without giving you the credit. Friends would at least be willing to sign up under you... I just have to try harder I guess...

Thank you for responding - it warms my heart each time when a box pops up to tell me that some kind person took the trouble to at least read my postings even if they may not have any suggestion. Thank you for sharing your woes with me and let's move on together. I wish you all the best.

I love the fact that zerocn put their own referral link in a mylot discussion. Do they not realise that we are all members of mylot already and don't need referring??? lol I only have a few referrals too... I got this one from an email that was forwarded to me from one of my friends. I guess that's how most people get their referrals... I keep trying to think of my old friends email addys, but not very succesfull most of the time! haha. Keep trying different forums too, but they tend to ban you for spamming haha. love and light.
