I play only no limit hold em and i'm from Canada. I play mostly just for fun online poker on pokerstars, But i do alright on it most nights i play 4-5 sit n go tournaments and almost every night i win 3 out of the 5. I have a rather unique style i dont play bluffin all the time and i'm not mr conservative either. For one i've always been lucky with getting the good cards and two I go with my first instinct and not ponder the call each time. Everyone has to have thier own method tho, Some ways of player only work for certain people. But that's All i'm saying gotta keep some tricks up my sleeve :P

I play texas hold em, but not other poker games, I have some basics but I do not consider msyelf expert. I live in New Jersey USA and there is a local burlington county area where people play in bar league for points, and a chance to play in tournament to win a prize of a buy in for atlantic city. I would say the players who consistantly win, do so because they do have luck with cards but they combine this with skill and patience. Many players who lose often and quickly do so because they do not have the patience to fold lower hands, that are less likely to win. Some just play to tight so they never take a chance and win, others play every hand, call every hand and quickly run out of chips the key is finding the balance between calling to much or not enough. You can learn in places like I play the bar leagues because it is not a money game, so you can gain knowledge of the game, the hands, the values, and this can help learn in a way that doesn't cost or risk cash flow, but it is true that people will play different in a money game than in a points game, some will take more chances in a cash game others will take less, but at least it is a way to learn the basics. It is also important to realize that the few players at the table means you have to alter your strategy, if you see that no one is entering a hand and everyone is folding you may want to go in that hand with cards you would normally fold because you have increased your odds of winning simply by virtue of less players that could beat you. On the other hand your cards may be low enough that the best thing to do is fold. In general if you have two cards that are jacks and higher you want to try to see the flop. This is for texas hold em I don't know much about other poker games other than the values of the hands.
