I'd kill for £2,000. I'd be rich! Enough would be £1500. But consistently. Not a few months of it then nothing. I think you can be quite comfortable if the mortgage/rent is paid and very basic household bills are paid and you have a consistent £500/month that is yours to live on (food, clothes, holidays, xmas, birthday presents, fix car, house maintenance, going out, further education, mobile phone, holidays, other luxuries)

I would say 30,000 to 50,000 pesos is enough for a monthly pay here in the Philippines. However, achieving this kind of salary needs skill and dedication, and it is really hard to find a job that would pay you this much.

I'm sure most people would say what they earn is not enough. Personally I think "enough" is when you have enough to buy a house large enough to cater comfortably for the size of family you want, and have enough left over to have some luxuries. Biggest problem in UK at the moment is house prices are so high. To get a three bedroom house and be comfortable we would be earning about £4,000 per month between my wife and I, but we are not likely to get that in the near future! Nick
