Should Mylot give you an option that you can have your earnings go to charity?

Snowy Mountain Range - A picture of a snowy mountain range, which looks so pretty, serene and unspoilt. This mountain range probably looks the same now as it did thousands of years ago!!

Do you think it would be a good idea? Lets face it I will probably spend my earnings on another pair of shoes, do you think it would be a good idea if we could give it to charity if we wanted as long as it was a charity of our own choosing? Perhaps Mylot could match our earnings with it? What do you think and what would be your preferred charity? I would give mine to a womens refuge charity.

Yes they should. Mainly, I believe that they know people are on mylot to earn money for themselves. You can always send it to charity upon your receiving your payment so maybe that is why they dont really get into all of that. They pay through pay pal and those type of things so it may be a bit too tricky if they have to send it to the charity directly.

Yes but you do get fees when they send it to you and it would just be oh so tempting just to sneak on ebay and have a look what is for sale! Thank you for your response!

If your favorite charity has an email address and you recieve your money into paypal. You can send money from paypal to anyone and any company with an email address. So we do have that option. Hope that this helps you to do with the money that which you wish to do.

Thats a good idea Willowlady and I'm sure some charities have Paypal accounts as I have seen a few on Ebay! Thanks for that tip!

this is a good idea as long as i can choose the charity and it isnt used just to pay an administrator or other professionals linked to the charity industry. Blessed be

I used to work as volounteer caring for street children so I would choose a similar foundation. We've been inviting some kids to have dinner with us in our house from time to time and maybe we can invite more. I think mylot should group together all the postings that say they are not here for the money and email them and ask if they are willing to have their earnings deposited in a foundation of their own choice. (joke LOL)

Well some people arn't here for the money as it doesn't pay a huge amount but don't say no when it comes to payday! I might email mylot asking if I they can set up a charity donation payment though! Thanks for your response :-)

No I am sorry I do need the money to pay off some outstanding bills mind you these bills are really not mine but my husband's I just want to help him as he helped me when I had no money and he has retired now with a very low pension, so I cetainly wouldn't give it to charity I have helped a lot of charity societies over the years though, and always will.

That's fair enough and I know there are alot of people on here that really do need the money and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that at all. I just think for people like me that can give a little bit to charity it would be a nice thing to do! Thanks for your honest response!

Yes i would like to see this but we could do it any way via paypal. Since alot of the sites these days have a donation button somewhere on the site, i know i have on one of mine and i nearly had a heart attack when someone gave me $30 dollars to help us. Some people are very kind so yes i would. I'd also like to see a donation scheme for users but on the other hand people would miss use this and go "i need money" if it was done with a anti begging policy then it would be nice. Kudos! ~Joey

Hi Joey, thanks for your response - I think I will donate via Paypal although I thought if I could do it direct through mylot then I wouldn't get fees on them paying it in and therefore donating more to the charity - it wouldn't hurt mylot to chip in a little extra to it either as they must get quite a few people with accounts with money in but they have left the site and not reached the 'payout' level, why couldn't they use this??

Yes, i think they should (i don't think many people would use it) but they should have it on here, I do surveys for sky sports & for every 5 i do they give me a choice £5 gift voucher or £3 donation to charity, i give this to charity, i think it is good to give and mylot should have that option.

Thats a good idea for doing surveys and I'm thinking I will try and give a donation via paypal when I get paid, it's not much but i like to give something back, working on the yin and yan effect! Thanks for your input!

This was suggested a long time ago at Epinions but there is a lot of hassle that goes into it and just like the saying goes, "You can't please all the people all the time" so if a handful of charities get picked, someone is going to say that theirs isn't on the list. I'd probably donate mine to a place that has a good track record and isn't a fly by night scam. Duh, sometimes I type things like that and wonder, "are the brain cells firing today?"

Well I'm thinking I might donate mine via Paypal to charity anyway as I think most charities take this form of payment nowadays, just thought it would be nice if mylot could chip in a bit too as I will get a fee for my money to be paid into paypal, whereas if I could donate direct I wouldn't get this fee and the charity would recieve more then!

I just think it's a little something we can give back and perhaps mylot should chip in a little bit more for those who donate to charity! It would probably help get a few more new mylotters aswell!
