Eating Habits...

India

I recently went thru a article which said.. one of the best ways to start dieting or control your intake of food is to stop watching tv while your eating!!! If you ponder over it for a while, it is so true.. because when the tv is on, you have no control on what are you eating and more specific HOW MUCH are you eating.. Eating in a quite place or rather eating with family make a lot of difference in your eating habits, and sometimes relationships also!! What do you guys think.. what are the other good ways or practices in different parts of the globe while eating??

I don't know if I agree with the whole eating in front of the television thing. I make up my plate or meal and do eat in front of the television from time to time, I don't see how it isn't controlled. I don't go back for more, what I have is all that I have. I think counting calories and portion control is the key.

True, counting calories and portion control is the key for a good diet... also consider, not having a proper diet doesn't only mean that you tend to over eat.. sometimes you eat less than what is minimum required or as you mentioned calories maybe people tend to have more or less inappropriate quantity of calories.. all this because they are more present to the television rather than their meal.. for some it would even become a common stuff because that's what they have doing most of the time..

True, and sometimes I notice I have more cravings when I am watching television...probably due to all the comercials about food....99% of which is not healthy at all.
