Its pretty easy to learn how to cook as long as you can follow directions. Get yourself a cookbook and try some simple recipes to start. Follow the directions and soon you'll find that cooking is not difficult at all. I suggest getting a general cookbook like "The Joy of Cooking" to start. It will give you definitions of cooking terms and basic instructions. Give it a try!

I have that cookbook and while it's a very informative book, I don't think it's good for beginners.

Why not? Does it not give detailed enough instructions?

it's always better to start with simple recipes. honestly, even the first time i did omelettes, i found it hard. i can't seem to fold the eggs right. but after a few times of learning the technique, i did it! cooking is a learning process. it should be done step by step. and don't expect that you'll always be successful all the time. expect also those bad cooking days.

I would suggest asking a friend or family member to teach you. This way you have their experience to back you up and even bail you out if you have trouble. Also, cooking with someone can make the act of cooking a lot more enjoyable for those who are not big fans of cooking anyway. My other advice is to start off small. Cook things with few ingredients that are not complicated in the beginning. If you take your time and make things you like, you might find out that you enjoy cooking. Good luck!

i started learning how to cook when i was still a child. my mom taught me how to. i started cooking rice and fried eggs. then, my knowledge and love for cooking just grew up. now, i can do pastas, and viands. you should start to have passion when it comes to cooking. if you have the drive to learn how to cook and improve your cooking skills, that's gonna be your signal to start the learning process. start learning how to do simple recipes like omelettes, pizzas and even adobo. then, you extend your learnings and this extension is still up to you. as of now, i want to learn how to make siopao. my boyfriend loves siopao and i wanna prepare siopao for him. it's my drive at the moment. and i am going to really learn how to do it!

Try getting a crock pot or slow cooker. It makes it really easy to make soups and stews. You just throw ingredients into the slow cooker and let it cook. This is an easy way to make gratifying meals and will help raise your cooking self confidence fast. Good Luck!
