Amend tax filing time?

You have three years. If you find they owe you a refund, it has to be filed within three years to get the refund. If you find you owe, you will have to pay penalties and interest on what you owe, dating back to the year it should have been filed. If you are trying to amend this years tax return, give the IRS a few weeks to get your original tax return into their system.
