hi all. i used to do quite a bit of crafts. my mother always did and taught me a lot of things. but it seems like a lot of people dont want homemade things for their home anymore. so i was wondering if their are any homemade craft things that are still popular. i will share a simple thing with you that we always used to do. ok you take a straw wreath that you can purchase in the crafts department, then you take some cloth, it can be any kind colors, scraps, anything, especially for practice, but to match a paticular room you will want to get a couple of colors to match the room maybe one solid and one print. anyway you cut these cloths into about 3 inch square pieces with pinking shears to make the edges that shape. after you have your square take a screwdriver and putin in the middle of the piece of cloth and push it down into the straw wreath.do it over and over until the whole front of the wreat is covered, you wont need to do the back as it will be to the wall whenyou hang it up. when you are all done you can just leave it like it is or add a big bow of ribbon, regular or paper ribbon. it will be very pretty. so thats my simple inexpensive craft. do you have one that you can share with me?

I am not a crafter, but I do love to receive things that are made. I have a friend who LOVES all kinds of crafts and makes a lot of them. The neatest one she just made was a pinecone covered with potpourri. It is in my office and gets lots of compliments. It is very lovely and smells so good. She does not like the smell of potpourri and receive a lot of it for Christmas, so she decided to get pinecones from the yard since there were 100's and made these for a lot of co-workers. They are really nice to have and they make the room smell so good.

I used to love doing crafts...just can't find anything that is really useful.I think the last thing I've done that you could consider....was making a Gingerbread house with my "little brother"(I'm a mentor)and some drawings....but that's about it.
