Annoying Misuse of Chat Features...

Ok I've had Aim, MSN, Yahoo, and Skype Messengers. The most annoying thing to me is when it shows your friends being on-line for 5 mins yet they have the "Away" message up constantly. You just signed in, why are you away? or are you really away? I know alot of people who just use "Away" to pick and choose who they want to talk to. Just be honest and leave a status message saying "I DON'T WANT TO TALK TO YOU ______" LOL I can take it. And then there are some people who sign in and they're "Away" or "Idle" all day. Why not just sign off or even go invisible? There there's that annoying "buzz" feature on yahoo messenger. That drives me crazy! If you feel that it's absolutely necessary to buzz someone don't keep doing it, followed by constant "Hello, hello, are you there?" Apparently they aren't there. Stop the buzzing. Because of this I have turned off the sound on all of my messengers. Is it just me who thinks that these things are annoying or are you someone who is guilty of these "messenger crimes" lol Let me know what you think or if you have anything to add as far as other messenger annoyances.

I can't say i've noticed people on my msn or yahoo lists being away all the time ... but some are idle. I've found that these are usually the ones who either use another chat medium - like trillian ... or they just have the computer on for the sake of it and they are off doing other things. If people don't want to talk to others then they should just use the invisible feature - especially on yahoo [and msn now i'm told] saves all the trouble.
