Intel, AMD and the 45nm

The recent additions to the technology are the 45nm technology by using the High-K and Metal Gate transistors. While this tech is proven with the processors and demonstrated by Intel with the Penrynn processor, AMD and IBM just put the SRAM test vehicle till now. They claim to have the working samples but god forbid them to put up a demo for the press!! Also the recent claims of the processors based on this 45nm by 2H2008 while not a single demonstration of working silicon with their 45nm technology is something to ponder about. Again another BIG claim by AMD is the Barcelona quad core performance to be 40% higher than the existing Intel Quad Fx. Again, No demo silicon of the Barcelona(K8L) core. Well if they are going to release these in 2h 2007, they definitely will need some working sample demonstrations by now. Hmm.. A lot of mysteries from AMD. Probably a surprise pack coming from AMD...
