Every now and then I hear moms complaining that kids do not want to read/ study at all. However nowadays I see fewer and fewer people sitting down to read even a short story let alone novels. What's your take on this alarming phenomenon? Do you think reading is not important? Which books do you read?

I think that you are mixing studies with the reading habits. Actually what I feel is this that they both are different activities...... Studying is what we have to do htere is no other option for this if we have to achieve our goals ........ but reading is what normally people do for their pleasure or for relaxing ..........nowdays there are many other options for reading rather than just sit down with a huge novel in our hands .......... right now what i have done is read your article ......and right now what you are doing is ....."READING"..... So the only thing what has changed is only the type of NOVEL LEO

I agree that in todays day and age, people are not interested in reading. Especially todays children, alot of whom would prefer to spend their time playing video games or watching movies etc. I have always been a reader and will always love the thrill of becoming engrossed in a book and falling in love with the characters
