do you pee when you cough or sneeze?

You could have a bladder infection or a bladder problem. You don't say how old you are but this is usually not a problem in healthy people unless they are older or, like your mother said, pregnant. If it continues or has been going on for quite awhile you should see a doctor about it. I currently have this problem sometimes, but I'm pregnant. :)

I've been sick for about 2 weeks with a bad cough. Prior to the cough I've never had an issue with "peeing my pants" lol but with this cough I have no control. It's getting really annoying beside just being plain out gross!

It is morely likely a weak bladder. You should see your GP and see what they have to say.
