Need Help!

Hi all, I am a homemaker and am looking for ways to work at home doing some online job. I am a computer graduate. I recently came across this blog which says I can make money by doing online surveys and things like that. How much legitimate do you think this is? I also did some research on this and found many forums wherethey have claimed to have made uotp $500+ a month. All the sites mentioned are free to join and send out checks for the earning(so no need to give bank account details) I am planning to join some of the sites, but thought I should know more about it.
