Children taking care of Parents

When i was very young, i would often hear from people that as a son i am supposed to take care and support my parents when i grow up. What did that mean actually? Does it means that parents stay with their children and get supported financially? Does it means children keep in touch with their parents and meet their emotional needs? Which should be given higher priority?

It's not literally mean like that. I mean , yes as they grew older, they are not as mobile as they were. so, for me as a daugther, i hired a househelp for my mom. i live on a separate house with my hubby. I sent her a monthly allowance for her maintenance medications, my other siblings sent her money too for her house bills.that taking care of thing..... although ofcourse, if our parents get sick we should be there for them the same as when we were just a child, they took care of us.

That is so good of you the way you and your siblings are taking care of your parents.
