Helping others

I am wanting to get involved in helping others this year in a big way, I am starting off small. I am participating in my first Multiple Sclerosis walk in April. Although I do not personally know anyone with this illness I wish to help others that do or have it themselves. I am planning to partake in several fundraising events this year, but like I said I am just starting out. I tried to get involved with the breast cancer fundraising becasuse that is closer to my heart as well as autism. But I have been unsuccessful thus far. If any one has any tips for me or wishes to help me out in my journey to make the world a better and healthier place, let me know. my current fundraising event can be found at http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR?px=3046556&pg=personal&fr_id=4770

It's nice to see folks out there that are concerned. I must admit until just a few years a go I had no idea what MS was much less how to even spell it. I was diagnosed in 2001 and up till then never knew anything about it. Never had any real illiness most of my life and this was a real shock to find out. At the time was working every day and had no real clue it was this serious. Since that time I've found out a lot and MS is like many other illinesses that affect millions each year its one that most governments spend nothing on for research so all reseach funding is purely raised by folks like you thru fund rasing. Good luck and more power to you.

My mother has suffered from MS for most of her life...on her behalf, I would like to thank you. Few people envolve themselves in endeavors that do not personally effect them; you are a wonderful person. Keep up the great work, and know that people appreciate your efforts and compassion.

I applaud you and say thank you. As a sufferer of MS I have had the pleasure of also working with the MS society and benefitting from their programs. I received an air conditioner for the summer that cools most of my house and keeps my MS at bay as the summer heat about kills me. So thank you... from someone who DOES benefit from your participation!

I don't particularly have any tips for you, but don't overwork yourself. If you do, then we might have to have a fundraiser for you. You truly a noble individual, not everybody can or will do what you seem to be quite exited to do. I hope you and others like you can make things happen on all fronts.

All participants, young and old, should know how very proud they make others feel when they participate in the races for FUNDRAISING, to make finding a cure all that more possible. Being just a friendly "stranger", let me say how proud I felt when knowing you're racing for the cure. I made a small donation and hope that MS will find a cure.

From someone who has MS, I just wanted to say thank-you. MS is a dieases not to many hear about unless they know someone. I to didn't know anything about MS when I was first dx'd. It is good to see someone using their time to make money to hopefully find a cure for MS. Thank-you for your support, happy walking!!!!!

Hi! I really like it when people are concerned and are willing to help others who are afflicted with certain diseases, especially you who's not suffering the same ailment, but feel for them. Charities are close to my heart, too. In my home country (the Philippines), since my father is a politician, my family would give out gifts, food, clothing, and donations to those who had been victimized by natural calamities. I myself would visit orphanages and actually celebrated my last birthday at the home for the aged. I'm planning to visit the pediatric cancer ward in June when I get back to visit my country. That would be my summer break from school (I'm a teacher here in the U.S.). Haven't seen you around, haven't been so active of late, too. More blessings, friend!

Hi there. You work towards a great cause. Your efforts, as small as you think they are, mean a lot to those who recieve them. You also probably feel accomplishment. I am a part of an organization that helps people around the globe help others. There are people who has MS that got better with our help, and even joined us in our cause - I can tell you one thing : after you help one person and see the true thanks in his/her eyes, you feel complete like nothing else feels like. Keep up the good work and good luck!!!
