Why can't I forget my first love?

Anybody with similar experience? During the first year after giving birth to my son, I constantly dreaming about my ex (First love). It happens almost every week for about a year. Why? Am I normal? FYI, I love my husband very much, but why do this unfinished bussiness keeps on haunting me in my dream? I remember we broke off in an unappropriate way 14 years ago. Now, we're both married and infact have lost contact for many years. Can you guys give comments? Or if you have face similar experience, tell me how you overcome this.

Thinking about your Ex goes to prove the extent of love you still have despite hatred that separated u. If it is reciprocal and your Ex keeps thinking about you then it is time you give it a serious thought of a reunion. If the Ex does not reciprocate then you are bound to carry on thinking about him all the time. Only time would bail you out of the situation. If you love your Hubby now very much, then it is a question of how much he cares for you that would make you forget and bury the past. If he is casual about the relationship with you then you are going to continue thinking about your Ex. Do consiously make up your mind to forget the past and look ahead for the future rather than thinking about the past. Think of the thought as a dream and forget it the next minute. I know it is easier said than done. But it is definitely worth trying
