Serving in Iraq

I am the father of a US army officer. My son is a 2nd Lt and is currently training as a field artillery officer, He knows that when he completes his training he will be shipped to the middle east. As a father I support my son, As a US citezen I do not support the war. There is currently an army officer on trial for refusing to go to Iraq. What do you think, should military personel have the right to refuse to serve in what they feel"is an illegal war based upon lies"?
