AS a department head, you have to teach a new hire about his work. Daily you have to check the work of your subordinates. Your minds works with the minds of 6 to 10 people. It makes you exhausted at the end of the day. Some would not dare for a promotion. The salary is only a bit higher than the ordinary personnel. Today most company do not pay overtime. Many are laid off but no new hire is made. Just wondering, in the early days there are about 50 employees in a regional government bank. Today many are given early reirement. No new hire was made. Computer has help a lot.

It can be such a hard job,I was a a dept head for years and you work with not much more pay than your subordinates. I would always come home so tired as there was much work to do,and sometimes you feel like a baby sitter checking on all the workers. Welcome to mylot, I see your fairly new!
