Do you know that 'puppy love' is called 'monkey love' in Indonesia?

In my language, Indonesia, we call puppy love 'cinta monyet'. Cinta means love, and monyet means monkey.

makes sense to me in the sense of monkeying around. Though I find puppy more descriptive. It implies youth and growth. A particular point in time that actions sooner or later will be outgrown. Incidentally your world cinta is similar to our Filipino word sinta which is a variant of love. Anyway Filipino and Indonesian belong to the Malayo-Polynesian family of languages and we can find many striking similarities.
