Using Handphone / Mobile at Gas/Petrol Stations

All the petrol stations put a sign saying " Do not Use Mobile Phone". Is it really dangerous to use phone at gas station. Have you heard, seen or faced any incident where things went wrong? Share what you feel about this Sign. Personally i feel that using may not cause any danger but i don't wish to take risk with my life and many others present there.
