Classes for parents before the birth of their child

With everything that has been going on with children and the punishments they receive from their parents, I am thinking that it might be a good idea for parents to attend actual parenting classes before they are allowed to take their children home from the hospitals. I am not saying that you give birth and then go to a class, but I think that either during your pregnancy or after you give birth, both parents should have to go to classes on how to care for their children. I think if these classes are required to be attended every couple of years, parents would be able to better realize problems early and be able to get help with issues regarding their children before it results in something bad such as making your child stand in the cold with nothing on, or trying to drown them. What do you think?

I think that is a really good idea. You take classes for everything all your life but when you have the baby no one tells you what to do. You have to kind of wing it and hope you are doing the right thing. I guess you learn through trial and error. I think maybe you should do it when you are pregnant because it would be so hard to do after you had the baby. Your hormones are crazy and you are trying to take care of a little human with little to no sleep.
