I think the best way to have a good relationship between the parents and their child is by doing something that is an attractive and creative. Play indoor game such as chess can integrates the relationship between you and your childs and sure it is also a good exercise for your mind. So, spend time for your childs..

yeah you are right! We do try to spend some quality time with our two and a half year old kid. He loves and enjoys very much when we play with him like a kid. Good time indeed!

Sunday mornings are our "game morning" I make a big breakfast, and we play games with the kids. Cards, Hullabaloo, Guess Who. It's so much fun!

My daughter that is 11 and I like to play chess, checkers, and cards together. We also have a few board games like Life that we enjoy together. One of the things we also do is play Nintendo video games, we both like the action, adventure games, although I watch the ratings on them as some can be very violent and those I do not allow her to play. Cheers!

It is a good decision for you that you are not allowed your childs involve in the violent games.

my son has attachment issues, and some other stuff too, and our family therapist has encouraged us to get board games that we can play as a family...we are slowly adding to our collection, and i am finding games that i remember playing as a kid with my siblings (my mom never had time or energy to play with us) that i want to play with my kids...i think it's very important to spend that quality time with them...indoors and out..and when you live where the winters get cold and the snow gets deep like i do, you are indoors for most of the year, whether you like it or not, so to play games together also keeps the cabin fever away, and keeps everyone a little less on each other's nerves...
