Stars: Colors & Numbers, please explain

Okay so I know what the stars are for, and I just figured out how to give people a positive or a negative rating that will help determine their star.
What are the levels of the colors of stars, and the numbers??
So like if there are 6 colors, red being the highest, do you have to get 60 positive ratings to be a LVL 10 RED STAR??

I think the colors just go with the number. 10 has a blue star, 9 is red...6 is pink. Not sure on the others and wasn't able to check quickly as to which one was which. Not sure how you can raise your star points besides posting more and getting more positive ratings.

8 is yellow and 7 is silver i know them oh and 4 is purple but like ya said.... i agree that the colours are just so we can distinguish between the 10 different numbers they dont have any real reason cept to make mylot a bit prettier ha ha ha

Great question, and I have been wondering about that myself. I noticed that my star is now yellow (yippee!!), and I was wondering what the differences in color were about. I think I have probably figgered out the numbers part, but I definately still have a lot to learn. I would like to know what each color stands for.
