Travel has had a huge impact on me before, opening my eyes and changing my perspective. Some places I've been have affected me more than others. Where have you been that has changed you and how?

It might sound silly because it's so simple, but the place that truly changed my perspective on things was on my first trip to Miami. America is known as a melting pot, but South Florida is a prime example of that melting pot in a single city. There were so many different cultures and languages that I encountered, and for the most part, it seemed that everyone interacted well. I consider myself a very open-minded person and because I travel often, I thought I'd seen most everything. But Miami was completely different. Everything was acceptable there. Different cultures were allowed to celebrate their own traditions without being hounded by outsiders. There were so many different types of foods and international stores that I'd never seen before. I know that there are plenty of large city that have various ethnicities, but Miami is definitely the one that opened my eyes to them.
