What's up with parents these days?

They are always complaining about something the school has done. They moan when kids are out of school. But, yesterday the county school decided not to cancel classes even though we had some snow. They decided to do this because they already have alot of days to make up. So, now the parents are mad at the school system. Who do you think is right? Are you one of those wacked out parents as well?

I'm not one of those parents, but I thought I might comment about this issue. We have a great school system here and normally all I hear is good about the schools and teachers. Monday there was no school because the high was only 8 degrees. Tuesday there was no school because the high for the day was only 6 degrees. We got a substantual amount of snow Wednesday and again there was no school. Thursday, they had school and at 7:00am in the morning it was -2 degrees and a wind chill of -20 or 20 below zero. It was not suppose to get out of the single digits for a high. Following the pattern, what happened to Thursday. You are right, all of the parents I know who had school age kids were very upset. The kids had to wear coats in the classrooms last week and it was in the upper teens each day. My family's kids, (nieces and nephews) stayed home. There is no heat on the bus, but they could have taken them to school. The problem is they have to change buildings which are about 2 football fields apart. It's just to dang cold. Making kids go to school in these conditions because the school doesn't want to have to make up the days is silly to me. One more day and it warmed up. Just my thoughts... . your friend
