Food wasted everyday...

I feel very bad when I see those kids in the learning center playing with their food and sometimes throwing them around, other times they don't even want to eat the sandwich already prepared for them... The amount of food that goes to waste everyday is just so great that I can't help but think of how lucky these kids are when in fact at the opposite side of the world there are children that doesn't even have anything to eat. While these children just waste their food and only wants their snacks, those children don't even get to eat a decent meal. I just hope that the world is fair enough and there are no people that starve and no people that waste resources that others would find very essential..

Have you asked these kids to value what is set before their tables? I think these kids are like that cause they never know how it is to be hungry. they have never been hungry in their whole lives. People dont value what they have cause they think it will never run out, or never go away. There are so many children that have nothing to eat and have to work as a child, while others play and would just throw toys at you. I have taught these to my niece that she should vlue everything she has, because she is lucky.

These kids must be spoilt by their parents! Perhaps the learning center could instead get the kids involved in meal making as part of the lesson, and the teachers to explain where the ingredients come from.

i feel the same as you are. i mean, it is really hard to serve food on the table and eat good food. seeing kids, or adults not eating what they have in front of them is really bad... others would have eaten that food, others who have not eaten for a day or two.
