a couple of days before i'm about to get my period, i feel more sensitive. i tend to think about issues that make me sad, i also have a few crying spells, where im just so overwhelemed with every going on that i cant help but cry. any other time in the month, im really fine. but i swear its like my body emotionally breaks down during this time period. and then my period comes full blown, causing me cramps, and i just feel like crap. anyone else experience these side effects?

Ugh! PMS! i hate it! Yes i think it does make you feel sad and depressed. I also get very angry over nothing. my family knows better than to tease me or irritate me around that time. As soon as i get my period i'm fine. I've never really had cramps, so I guess i'm lucky in that sense.

I use to have all kinds of whacked out by PMS. It was so bad I went to see a doctor for it. It seemed like I would get so much anxiety, anger and headaches and I couldn't sleep. It just progrssed so bad, I needed to get help. The doctor told me I was stressed and depressed and tried to prescribe prozac which I refused. I knew my problem was due to my period. Anyways, I did some research online. And it made a big difference in my PMS systoms. Caffiene is a definite NO NO. It intensifies the systoms. I eliminate or limit the caffiene when it's about time. I also keep chamomile tea on hand. It has a very relaxing effect. There's a ton of food you should avoid. It all has to do with the chemical changes happening in your body and some foods just don't mix well.
