Two weeks from diagnosis to death. The cancer just took over and before she lost her dignity, we put her down. She tried to fight the sedative, and they had to give her 2 shots of it, but she went peacefully and beautifully. We have our memories and our love for her to keep us going. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and stories. They are all greatly appreciated.

i am so sorry to hear that your furry baby has passed away. huge hugs to you and your family. she sounds like she had a pretty good life with you and your hubby. we had a bullterrier x rotweiler he got to just before his 18th birthday when we had to have him put to sleep, it would have to be the saddest day of my life. i had only had him in my life for 4 years but my partner had had him from 6 weeks old and he had traveled everywhere with him. it has been 3yrs now and i still miss him terribly, i am lucky as he is buried in the garden outside our lounge room window so he is still very close to us. just know she will always be with you and you wont ever forget her. love and best wishes to you and big hugs

Thank you for your words. We actually sent her to the cremetorium. My husband is out right now looking for a pretty urn for her. We are going to be moving soon, so we didn't want to bury her in the city we were leaving so this was the next best thing, that way we can take her with us.

im so sorry to hear about your loss. it is always so painful to lose a pet who has become a member of the family and such a big part in our lives...they give such unconditional love and loyalty that it seems hard to imagine them gone...i do hope you have other pets or get another one soon... well wishes

Katie and Tahloulah - The sisters together
Thank you so much. We have a Chihuahua that we are keeping a close eye on. We want to make sure that she is adjusting to her sissy being gone.

im sure you will bring comfort to each other but i do hope she is ok...and never doubt what you have done..if an animal is in pain, it is so much nicer to them to put them down. you definately did the right thing and im sure she would thank you for it.

My condolences! Sad to lose a loved one. Merciful that it did not take a really long to time to play out. If only we all could have the peaceful and beautiful exit from this life. To be reunited in the time beyond. Take care and I am sure the memory will be honored!!

I am sorry for your loss. Sometimes it is more humane to put them down that to let them suffer. You did the right things.

I'm so sorry for you. Losing a beloved pet is so painful. It's great that you put her best interests first, and let her go before losing her dignity, and with love and peace. She will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. . .
