too many foreigners in our country...

i visited Panglao Island in Bohol last week and was very surprise to see so many foreigners in the area. it was like im in another country with all the caucasians lying in the sand having a massage and sun bathing. i think, only 20% are local tourists and the rest are foreigners. i was really surprise! how about you? does you country have a lot of foreigners?

Here in my place Gingoog City, we have Foreigners here but not too many. Most Foreigner are got married to Filipoina here, some are staying here and do open an in-
vestment too, some are they are here spending their few days either few months just for vacation only. Yes... I noticed many Filipinas have a Foreigner husband. What about you? Do you have a foreigner boyfriend?

I've visited Bohol a lotta times and I stay in my tita's place in Loboc. Most foreigners I see are expats. What irritates me is that they are buying the locals out of their lands and putting up their own resorts and in the end they're the ones making money instead of us pinoys. The funny thing is that the sole reason they married a filipino is so that they can have legal rights to buy the lands here. Some of them don't even marry filipinos and aren't even citizens of the Phils and yet they own lands and resorts here.

yeah. i agree with you. sometimes, it makes me think that foreigners are taking advantage on us. but on the other side, they also provide some work to the locals. it's actually a complicated issue and it is almost happening everywhere here in the Philippines. and another problem is, we allow it to happen.

Hello Makaira. I live in the United States. The United States is probably the most diverse country in the world.
You will find people from other countries in ever State. Someplaces like New York City, over 150 different languages are spoken.
We have large communities with people from countries you would never expect.
We have Iranian, Iraqi, and Russian communities here in the United States.
At this time we have a huge illegal immigration debate going on. They believe there are up to 20 million illegal immigration.
In my opinion, I think the United States is better off for it's diversity.

i see. i have cousins and friends who now live in the United States. and true, they told me that in the US, there are a lot of people from different countries. i also met a friend from the US and she was telling me all about the US and i was quite surprise to know that there are many immigrants in the US.
