Are we doing something wrong?

There are so many emails on Mylot about people having cancer and sick children. Many of us do pray and ask God for help with our problems. God is all powerful, He could cure our problems in an instant. Are we doing something wrong? Is God mad at us, that our prayers are not answered?

I think he is furious with us all. Just look at what's happening in this world now. Can you blame him?

I think we are doing so many things wrong that cause these illnesses and it's just natural consequence. God's non- interferring and trys to lead us in the right directions and we ignore him.

I dont think because of anger he is not listening to our prayers, he has a purpose for everything in our life, though we do not know it at present even through sickness he will teach us valuable lessons,he will heal in his time, we cannot question me as he says I'm the potter you are the clay so he can do anything he wishes, we can hope his mercy and pray with faith, yes it is painful to see our loved ones sufferring and feel that why God has allowed such things as if we are sinners. but what to do God Has given we have to accept it and hope for healing.

We have to realize that sometimes bad things do happen to God's children. Does that mean that He doesn't love us? No of course not! Sometimes He tests our faith and sometimes He uses things that aren't so pleasant to get our attention and to focus on Him. We are to trust God in everything. He promises those who know Him Eternal Life and we as Christians, have that awesome Promise. This life will have it's trials, no doubt, but with Christ, we can be sure He will be with us and help us get thru it all.

I do believe that God had his own purpose for our life even before we were born. Like what everyone stated here, everything has a reason. He brought sickness and other destructive things here to test our faith. He sees everything and is aware of all our prayers.

God is still answering our prayers. Sometimes though its not the answer we think that we want. There is appointed a time for all of us to die. It has to be so that we can join our Father in heaven.

We can pray and ask God for help but we must also remember that God has His plans for us all. I know personally that He does answer prayers but also know often in situations that we see hopeless He has some reason. A prime example is a young man in our church, last year the doctors gave him 6 months to live because of a rare cancer that treatment wasn't working on. Hundreds of people prayed for this young man, there were regular visitors to the hospital, someone from the church every day. Through all this several of the hospital staff came to know the Lord, and Christmas day Shaun attended church service, 9 months after he was supposed to be with the Lord according to the doctors. He is now in total remission and back in college at our University.
