Alright, time to conjur up all those old feelings of childhood angst. Were you ever teased on the playground? Bullied? When you were growing up, what's the meanest thing another kid ever said to you?

I remember in 3rd grade we got a new girl. Which was very unusual in our area. Of course everyone wanted to be friends with her and this put her on a power trip. She was the queen bee. One day she decided that we were not allowed to play with one particular girl anymore. We all lined up and as we went by her desk we were supposed to say " I don't like you and don't want to play with you anymore" I was about 5th in line and I could not do it. One other brave soul also decided not to say it either. I was just sick to my stomach. The new girl got the rest of the class and they walked past my desk the other girl that would not say it and the origional girl and they all said they hated us. At recess the 3 of us were crying on the playground. Three little out casts untill an older friend of mine, a boy that I had known since I was 2, and the big sisters of the other 2 girls came along and asked what happened. It was grade 6 against grade 3. Most of the 3rd graders were sorry, but the new girl got hoisted up on top of the skating shack and was left there when recess ended. When she did not show up in class the teacher asked where she was. No one would tell her because we were too scared to rat out the grade 6's. The teachers found her quit quickly on top of the shack crying and got her down. We did not let her run the class anymore after that. I sure remember feeling sorry for myself that day.

I confessed to this a few days ago in a response to someone who questioned what was abuse in marriage. I was describing the different levels of abuse and the fact that each one carries its own devastation and degradation; none of them being either less or worse than the other. As a very young and very pretty young pregnant woman my first husband (who I realize now was not that great of a looker!) made it very plain to me that he was going out with other women and went out often. When I asked him why he no longer took me out his response was that the only thing that I was fit to be seen with was the garbage as I was hauling it to the curb. This is the second time I have written this in less than a week. I am going to be 59 years old in just a matter of days and it is still fresh to me. I cannot take trash out that I don't think of it. This will be the last time that I give voice to it; but thank you for letting me put it to bed ~Donna

Before me and my best girl friend liked each other, we were enemies and I remember in the 5th grade she said I was so ugly that I ate rats for breakfast. That was cruel to me back then and now that I think about it now, it's still cruel, LOL.

Oh my gosh that is so mean! I'm sorry that happened to you and I hope your aunt and uncle eventually realized how hurtful it was and apologized to you.
