The principal attraction of Oporto east is its wine; developed at the 18th century by the English merchants, the wine of Oporto constitutes the principal activity of the city. The inhabitants of Oporto are very fond of delicacies the most important festivals, being the festival of St Jean in June, the Celtic festival of music in March and the festival of puppets in May.
