i had my first celfone last 2000. it was ericsson (analog then). then after few months i changed it to bosch, which has text messaging or SMS. texting is cheapear than making a call that time. my first nokia was 3310. from then on i'm using nokia. of course i change my model unit either after 6 months or a year. i don't need or not impotant to me if my celfone has no camera. the reason why we have this gadget is to have continuous communication with our friends & relatives. celfone with cam is only luxury. & besides we should be practical nowadays. almost everything are expensive. i must admit i can't afford to purchase a high tech celfone. i will just spend it for my 2 kids for their education.

yep. people can reach us anywhere in the world. like i do have a boyfriend who lives in another country. he can easily contact me through voice calls or text messages even when i am away. so, it's necessary for communication.

Better to have one even you dont need it rather than needing one and you don't have it.

you have a good point. spending money more on your kids is better than being too luxurious for yourself. as for me, i admit, i am one of the people who loves the newest phones. i got my first mobile phone in 1996. i was in first year college then. it was a motorola my mom bought because i'll be studying in a city away from them. it's for communication purposes. i did not like the performace, so, i switched to nokia. i changed my phone every now and then. first nokia phone as a 3210, then changed to 8210, then 5210, 7650 and now, i am using a nokia N73 phone for 6 months already. it's a gift from my dad last year. i love taking pictures anywhere i go. i love to take pictures of places, people, kids, nature and all. so, it's an all in one thing for me. i can be reached anytime, anywhere i maybe. plus i can shoot videos and take photos anytime i want to. i am not sure on when to change again. but i love this phone so much. actually, my 7650 lasted for almost 4 years because i really loved it. and i am like this new phone of mine and i am also planning to keep this for a long time. i have no kids yet. single. plus most of my phones were just gifts from people. so, i think i'm not much guilty about the too much luxury thing.

Hey, I guess I know those models, the bosch and the ericsson. I used to sell those cellfones wayback 2000. I have my celfone for communication with relatives, friends, and strangers too. hehehe. And you are right, celfone with camera is only for luxury. And besides nowadays, it is risky to bring expensive celfones. You know pickpokets and holduppers are just around the corner.
