Being a Filipino

If somebody outside the Philippines learns that you are a Filipino then starts to berate, despise and call you names such as:
3rd world rat, Brown American, a desperate citizen from a corrupt and politically unstable country, undisciplined, uneducated, etc.
How would you react? How will you adjust to the situation? Would you defend yourself or defend the Philippines?
